NOTRE MISSION

The French Road Safety Foundation (Fondation Sécurité Routière), recognised as a public utility, was officially created under the Decree of 14 December 2005.

In a continually changing environment, the risk factors are undeniable. Thus, the mission of the French Road Safety Foundation is to finance and promote the development of all technology designed to improve the prevention of risks connected to road safety and to limit the consequences of such accidents.

Its goal is to define, finance and promote research programmes in the field of road safety, encompassing the fields of technology, the humanities, social sciences, life sciences and, in particular:
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of poor road safety and human vulnerability
- The role of the driver and simulation tools
- Suitable and forgiving infrastructure
- Intelligent roads and road sensors
- Vehicle design to prevent accidents.

LES MOYENS D’ACTION

The operational resources of the French Road Safety Foundation:
- Financial support for research programmes selected from among invitations to tender launched by the Foundation and giving rise to contracts between the Foundation and those research providers. The founders have an unreserved entitlement to provide this research, subject to abidance by the rules of free competition.
- All other resources liable to promote research furthering road safety and, in particular, the use of bulletins, publications, meetings and lectures.
